UPCOMING EVENTS

Bat Walk and Moth Watch
Saturday 25 May 2013, 9pm till late

Join the Friends of Markeaton Brook and the University of Derby for a stroll along Markeaton Brook listening for bats with the aid of bat detectors. Afterwards, meet up with the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Entomological Society (DaNES) for a moth watch on Sturgess Fields. Bring along a torch.

The walk will be along paths which can be wet, muddy and uneven underfoot, so you should wear comfortable walking shoes, boots or wellies and bring warm, waterproof clothing in case it rains.

Meet at the end of Markeaton Street near Sturgess Fields by the (curly) pedestrian bridge over the A38 (Queensway) into Markeaton Park, OS ref: SK338370, Postcode DE22 3AW. Nearby bus routes are the 28, 29 and Swift.

For further information contact the University of Derby on 01332 590500.

PS. Hopefully this bat that flying on Markeaton Brook in April may make an appearance:
